Hi everyone,

this issue was initially reported at Red Hat bugzilla [1]. I CCed Timo
on it, but since he did not comment on it, I am for warding the report
here. Maybe wider audience will help solving the issue.
The problem basically is that thinkfinger pam module emits a return key
if password is used, which could pose some problems with GUI
applications, like pressing the button that brought up the password
dialog in the first place. Please see bugzilla for details.

Regards,
Julian

The uinput hack should not trigger when a password is used. Having that
said, I have not seen the CR to be emitted when using a password. It's
probably a Fedora specific issue.

I described the same issue here on the list 21.07, and I had compiled
thinkfinger from source on Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon. I'll do what I can to
help track the issue down.
