hi developers.
i googled a lot, but i couldn't find anything about this topic. Is it possible
to use the fingerprint reader as normal scanner device, that you can get a
nice .png (or whatever) image of your finger?
i thought that the original ibm fingerprint software generating an image of
your finger, when you are in this training modus.
or is it possible, converting the .bir files in any suitable format?

best regards

Just curious, is there Linux software that lets you do this, or are you
referring to the training software on windows?

The existing thinkfinger code does not allow you to retrieve images.
.bir is an unknown data format and is not an image.

I referring to the windows software ... sorry i had forgot to say this.

But when the .bir format is unknown data ... is there a standart for this
format or some rules? what is saved in this file? when i have a description
eventually i can extract some geometric data.
i experimented a little with hexdumps of some .bir files, but the size (and
the content) changing from try to try only some initial bytes are constant.
