[Thinkfinger-devel] New on the list, and some problems with xscreensaver

Hi all.

First of all, I'm new to this list, so I introduce myself: I'm a
French devel and admin-sys, 45 yo, using debian for a long time and
GNU/Linux for a more long time :)

I've installed the thinkfinger on my laptop (T42p) yesterday, and all
works good except xscreensaver.

So I have modified udev rules (using the thinkfinger group for usb and
uinput devs), but I don't want to give access to /etc/pam_thinkfinger
to anybody.

Unable to retrieve the patches from the ML (I got "insuficient
parameters" from sourceforge), I made a small patch to:

1° Check first if /etc/pam_thinkfinger/* is accessible
2° revert to use ~/.thinkfinger.bir if not

Event with this patch (included) xscreensaver doesn't work.

Any idea?

Many thanks.

The mailing list archives seem to be broken, I'll report it to the
SF.net issue tracker.

Due to continuous problems with the sourceforge.net mailing list
archives (newest MOTD: "File not Found") I've uploaded the patch set to
the bug tracker:

I have committed Christian's patches. With those changes, PAM will now
first check for ~/.thinkfinger.bir and then fallback
to /etc/pam_thinkfinger/$USER.bir. These changes should help for your
situation as well, right?
