Hello,

I've just wrote a Thinkfinger Ubuntu howto :
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ThinkFinger

This is largely inspired by the README and INSTALL file but I thought it was easier for an Ubuntu user to have such an howto.

It might be good to put a link to this howto in the "documentation" part of the website, if you want.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your work ! I'm really enjoying my fingerprint reader :-)

(I only have to get rid of this bug : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gksu/+bug/86843 )

Thanks for the heads-up! Nice to see Ubuntu picking up ThinkFinger,
too.

Yes, I'm still looking for some free time to add links on the project
page for distro specific information and packages.

Hi Lionel,

I just read your howto. There's a small mistake: it's not true that
gnome-screensaver doesn't use PAM. But the implementation is buggy.

There's no solution at the moment.

Best regards,
Stephan

We are pretty sure the implementation is not buggy. If you have
specific information please attach it to:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411293

So far, it looks like a simple permission problem and there isn't much
gnome-screensaver can do about it directly.

Thanks for working on this BTW!

Hi Jon,

it was never my intention to offend you.

Could you please explain the permissions issue in detail? I (logged in
as a user) have full access to the USB device. To achieve that, I added
a new system group, added my user to that group, changed the udev rule
so that all USB devices are in that group.

What else needs to be done?

Thanks for helping.

Best regards,
Stephan
