[Thinkfinger-devel] Thinkfinger doesn't cooperate with pirut and pup in Fedora

Hi folks,

I don't if you all noticed this bug, but in Fedora 7, thinkfinger will
authenticate only at the login screen and no where else unless pirut
and pup (the package managers) were not updated along with pam. I'm
not sure how to work out the kinks on this, but this problem seriously
makes typing passwords tedious again. Thanks for you attention.

This is an edit to the previous post.

Thinkfinger/PAM works at the login screens and the shells, but not at
graphical authentication for some applet/package manager. This
probably means something is wrong at the PAM end with graphical
applets. Does it also have to do with memory corruption that was
discussed in another post?

Prior to Fedora 7, I had Fedora 5 where everything was being
authenticated. The irony is previously, the graphical apps weren't
asking you to swipe your finger; just provide a password. In Fedora 7,
the opposite occurs. It says "Password or Swipe finger," but nothing
happens when you swipe and you are stuck with entering the password.

If anyone has worked this out, please tell us the workaround.

Thanks,
Vivek
