Hello.
I have thinkfinger 0.3 running on a T60 laptop under Ubuntu Feisty Fawn
(kernel 2.6.20)
===========================
***@thinkpad:/home/val# lsusb | grep SGS
Bus 004 Device 003: ID 0483:2016 SGS Thomson Microelectronics
Fingerprint Reader
===========================
thinkfinger used to work on this setup for a while after I first
installed Ubuntu and I was able to acquire the fingerprints for all the
users I needed. Today I tried to add another user's fingerprint and
found that tf-tool no longer works. I do not know what has changed.
===========================
***@thinkpad:/home/val# tf-tool --acquire --verbose

Running in verbose mode.
* Mode: acquire
* Biometric identification record file: '/tmp/test.bir'
Initializing... done.
tf-tool: TF_STATE_SWIPE_0 (0x02)

swipes:0)...tf-tool: TF_STATE_ENROLL_SUCCESS (0x07)
Please swipe your finger (successful swipes 3/3, failed swipes:
0)...done.
Storing data (/tmp/test.bir)...Warning: usb_bulk_read expected to read
0x40 (read 0x8 bytes).
===========================
After the above message tf-tool freezes (although it can still be
interrupted with Ctrl-C) and /tmp/test.bir is empty. The number of read
bytes reported in brackets is different between different runs of
tf-tool (i.e not always 0x8).
What can I try to troubleshoot this issue? Any ideas would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks.
